Question about Kenny.

What does it take to get him to come with you to the fallout shelter?

Like does anyone know the specific plot flag that needs to be checked?

I've heard some people say they sided with him the whole time except for with Shaun at the start and he still didn't want to go. But then I've heard other people say that they sided with him up until the meat locker incident and then stopped caring and he didn't want to go either.

So does anyone know how to get this?

I've only got one playthrough so far in which Chris, Omid and Ben are present. But I'm going to do another playthrough because it'd be interesting to see how things play out differently.

So help please?

lol no, he just lost his own. I didn't think that was the best way to get him to come. I just stayed silent and hoped the "puppy dog eyes" would make him come around. He did go a bit more rational, but then just stuck to his guns of "you've shown you only look out for yourself. So that's what I'm gonna do."

In my second save (my "I could have gone the other way" save), I helped Kenny in the meat locker, which made Kenny my buddy. However, I saved Ben in both my saves, which soured him a bit in my buddy save, but if you play the "family" card and tell Kenny to suck it up when he whines about asking Ben to come, then he goes with the group (grudgingly).

In episode 1 you can help save Duck and help Kenny to deal with Larry at the drugstore.In episode 2 you can feed Duck.
I didn't do the first, but when I said that Clem is like a family to me, he came to me because I helped his family.

True, I think I might just do another playthrough. even before I had any options to talk to him he was like "I don't know why you're looking over here Lee, you haven't exactly ever gone out on a limb for me."

Which is funny, because he said on the train that Katjaa really liked Lee.

If you have his back most of the time he'll tell you that you've always been there for him, and he would be a terrible friend if he didn't come with you, so he automatically accompanies you. When I did the save where I was still his friend, but saved Ben, I had to tell him Clem was my family but he still came. I think the only way he won't come no matter what is if you hardly ever side with him and generally treat him like shit.

What needs to happen to bring only Kenny? I'm about to start a play through where I completely side with Kenny and I thought it would be cool to end that with just he and I going after Clem. I imagine I have to hide the bite in order to ditch Omid and Christa. Can't see them turning Lee down after seeing his seeping death sentence.

I sided with Kenny on everything(Except for the Shawn/Duck, Larry, and Ben situations) and he came along with me. I had to use the line that Clem was my family, but he came with me nonetheless. I also kicked out Lilly, talked Kenny down on the train. shot Duck for him, give both Duck and Kenny food, and had him kill the kid in the attic. I ended with everyone coming with me.

Kenny is an idiot, anyway. The only time when he did something decent was when he helped you get up in the drugstore after Larry broke your face. I don't know why people only hate Ben because both are equally stupid cowards.

I was shocked, and I mean shocked, to see that people still had Ben in their group at the end. I don't know what happened in other people's games but in mine, he left Clem on the street to be eaten by zombies. For me, he was dead the moment he did that. What kind of person leaves a kid to fend for herself? Especially after what he caused to happen to Duck.

After he left her there, I couldn't kill him fast enough.

I agree that Ben is fucking stupid as hell there were a ton of moments where I said to myself "God Damnit Ben".

But letting someone die like that is not something I abide by.
I save anyone I can regardless of my attitude towards them.

I protect that's my playstyle.

I don't think saving Ben effects your relationship with Kenny, I saved Ben and Kenny said he was my friend and I've always been for him and he'd be a terrible friend if he didn't come, so he still came without persuasion regardless of me saving Ben.

things which I did "for" Kenny: I helped Duck on Hershel's farm; deffended him against Larry; gave Duck food; sided with Kenny in the most conversations against Lilly; helped him to kill Larry; didn't kill the biten woman; kicked Lilly out of the truck; shot his son (lol funny to write it to the positive things)
things which I did "against" him: didn't take the food; didn't kill Ben and asked him to join our final group
things which I don't know if he likes or dislikes it: kicked his ass in the train (afterwards he is thanksfull for that); convinced him to shoot the zombie boy (thought it would help him in this cruel world to become a loyal badass..)

After all that he joined my group without convincing. I only said that he have to get over it (because of Ben)

About Ben.. I think you are all overreacting. yes, he is kind of an stupid idiot but he didn't do anything real evil to anyone. He's just a boy -> can't kill a boy in such times, hopefully he becomes usefull one day.
