Default Pendulo Studios: Day One funding campaign

The Pendulo Studios jump on the crowdfunding train, having started their own campaign related to the game "Day One". It tells the story of Ethan, a young and acid journalist who learns from his doctor that he’s got a terminal disease: he'll be dead before the end of the day. Back home, he finds a capsule and a note: “This will keep you alive 24 extra hours. Come to Paris for more. We’ll find you.”

They're providing a vast array of rewards, including an oldschool "big box" edition of the game, an opportunity to put your own creations (art, music, texts, etc.) in the game, Ethan Grant's Edition of The Devil's Dictionary with his own notes, thoughts and traces of events that happen in the game and even the chance to study a course in Videogame Design thanks to Universidad Complutense de Madrid and become an intern in Pendulo Studios.

Check this out for more: http://www.ulule.com/dayone/

What exactly is an acid journalist? This game sounds cool; I'm a big fan of Pendulo's adventure games. I do hope that they eventually return to their more off beat style games though

They take a lot of drugs, in this case acid, and then write some article they pull out of their ass. Like the guys at Kotaku.

If they are planning another adventure with a serious setting like Yesterday I want to play it.

Update #1: they've started writing the backers' names on the office walls! Also, some backers' avatars and banners

Between this and Yesterday, their game lineup is going to start reading like an Abbott and Costello bit.

Acid journalist could just be another term for gonzo journalist, à la Hunter S. Thompson (happy b-day in the land of the dead, big dude!).

Either way, I'm excited to see how this game progresses.

Update #2: the Spanish writer Ramón Cerdà, who claimed one of the 5 "Look mum, that's me" rewards and will appear as an in-game character.

And a new screenshot:

Woah, that looks fantastic.

Then again, I always do love the look of Pendulo's games.

This is a campaign worth following, because a/ they seem to prepare a lot of cool stuff to sustain a long campaign b/ I love Pendulo and this game looks really cool c/ they are obviously in need of support.

Lots of updates lately:
* What do video games programmers really do?
* How to create a good tune?
* Coloring a scene of The Next Big Thing

And the real teaser trailer for the game.

Also, US backers now have the option to pay in dollars.

* The bugmaker
* Creating SFX

New updates:
1) a sample of the game's soundtrack
2) soundtracks from the other Pendulo games
3) And finally, a new reward: the Summer Sale, which allows you to get a physical version of one of the backgrounds from the first Runaway. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, which includes a brief story about the background you have chosen. And as if that weren’t enough, it is signed by the whole team

Only 15% funded and 8 days left. I don't know if they will be able to make it but if they won't, it's really dissapointing as Pendulo makes really good adventure games.

I've been playing catchup with Pendulo the past two weeks.

Played and beat both Igor: Objective Uikokahonia and Hollywood Monsters.

Fantastic games, but quite wacky. (Igor less so)

Really didn't feel like starting a new thread for this, so this one'll do.

Presenting Hidden Runaway, a project I want to like but can't because of the fucking hidden object puzzles.

What's wrong with hidden objects games?

I'm dying to play it but I can't because currently it's only for iOS

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Plus, there's like zero imagination to HO puzzles, and they're always exactly the same.

That's what it is for me. Do they really count as puzzles when you don't have to think??

I have never played Hidden Object games before, so I don't know what it's like. The only reason I want to play Hidden Runaway is that I really liked Runaway series, plus I want to support Pendulo Studios as they are really talented people. I guess they want to make real adventure games but they can't because of their lack of funding
