Default Can't play Episode 3 (PS+ issue?)

I downloaded Episodes 1 and 2 when they were available for free on Playstation Plus. I played (and loved) both of them and still have my save data from when I cleared episode 2.

A couple weeks ago, my Playstation Plus subscription ran out (when this happens, you lost all the games you got for "free"), and I didn't renew because it didn't seem worth it. Yesterday, I bought and downloaded Episodes 3 and 4, yet when I fire up the game, it won't let me play them. I go to the menu, hit Play Game, and it only allows me to play the Demo for episode 1.

Now, I know when my Plus subscription ran out I would no longer be able to play episode 1 or 2 (and that's probably why it converted to the Demo), but it seems unfair that I can have save data from 1 and 2 and own Episodes 3 and 4 but not be able to play them. I don't want to buy Episode 1 again because I already had it and played it. I'm just not sure if this is a bug/glitch from the somewhat weird circumstances, or if this was intended (Episode 1 is the official "game" and you have to own it to play the "DLC" episodes).

Any help would be appreciated.

I ended up buying episode one and installing the unlock key and it let me play 3 and 4 just fine with all the right decisions carrying over, but I still don't think it's right I had to do that. Love the game though, so an extra $5 isn't the biggest deal in the world.

I apologize for the inconvenience. However, it is specified on the description page for each episode that you must have Episode 1 to play other episodes. Since you let your plus account expire, you no longer owned episode 1, which would prevent you from playing all other episodes.

I see. I didn't read the description in the store so I didn't know that. Thanks!
