I didn't feel much for Chuck, but he was a great guy, but I didn't really have enough time to connect with him like some of the other characters. I am grateful for him to have saved Clem, which is why I was a little upset by seeing him dead because he was good to Lee and the group. Much nicer than some of the other characters that we didn't know very well. When we first met him I thought he was gonna be some suspicious old guy, but in the short time that I knew him, I really enjoyed him being in the game.
But you know why he was cut, don't you... Telltale seems to have problems with keeping characters like him in for long amounts of time, because it means more money lost for them and their writers need to do lots more work. It's like Carley and Doug, they were struggling to keep up two storylines which were almost parallel, so they decided to axe the, from the game before anymore could become of it, and to make Carley's death worse they started the romance thing to get you really attached to her. It's the same for Chuck, he was made save Clem and look like a real hero. Because most players love Clem and would hate for anything to happen to her, they introduced this part of the game so you would feel a little bit emotional over his death.
Sorry if anyone was pissed off when I wrote about Carley and Doug, but I needed to for comparison
