Default Purchased through ORIGIN and installed through Steam - What gives ???

I purchased this game through the Origin Store, then waited for it to download. Upon installing it alerted me that it's a Steam game so it had to install through the Steam console. OK, so it installed, then instead of me being able to play the game, Steam is downloading it again and now I have to wait for it to install AGAIN !!!

Has anyone else dealt with this mess ????

I am sorry.

There are many steam games which have this problem, that you purchase them on origin first and then you have to install them aditionally on steam. I think its just how it is and don't know if you can do something about it.
Maybe the installation will take less time, since you already have the files.

It sucks, but I don't think you can do anything about it.

I downloaded Battlefield 3 through Amazon and, at the end of the installation, I was alerted that the game would have to redownload and reinstall through Origin...

A 20 GB game, downloaded twice

It didn't do it faster. I didn't know anything about the game. I just decided to search for something other than the war games I usually play.

I'm not too happy with this game. It appears that if you don't do things just right, you get stuck at a particular level and have to start all over again. I had to go and find a walkthru in order to find out how to advance.

not cool.

I assure you that there are absolutely no cul-de sacs in this game, and there also are only very few parts where your brain is required.

The least you'd ever need is "a walkthrough" - which would effectively tell you what to do, taking the fun out of the "player choices" element of the game.

well, twice I had to consult the walk through. I think there's a glitch in the game, for instance: When I first started and after the car crash, the policeman got me. The game hung up. When I went back and tried again, I found my way into the house and the kitchen drawers weren't available to me the first time I tried. Only when I re-entered the game the white dots shown themselves. Now, I'm by the tractor talking with the boy and the guy fixing the fence. The only thing the game is allowing me to do is talk, there are no alternate choices. I talked to the lady and the little girl, the guy fixing the car is no longer available. Only when I re-entered the game was I even able to examine the boards to the left, no other options are available.
