So I downloaded today Episode 5 and was realy excited to play it finaly, but as i had to finish the already finished episode 4 there stood "Episode 5, coming soon" well i checked all again and restarted there is the episode 5 installed and i could start it (with general decisions) but as i had checked that i started episode 4 again and somehow the episode isnt installed anylonger. Only after a restart of the game it is and im only able to play it with general decisions. Please help me asap :/

Having a similar issue.

When I started it up after installing the patch, it showed that episode 5 was available, but it asked if I wanted to generate results for "skipped chapters." It appeared as if I hadn't finished episode 4, so I quickly continued that episode and completed the last scene of episode 4, waited through the credits, but then it showed episode 5 as "coming soon."

When I restart the game, it goes back to saying I haven't finished episode 4, but 5 is available. Tried multiple times with the same result.

Same problem here. How do we back up gamesaves? I´ll just reinstall the whole thing after that.

I am trying a workaround by copying the savefile after i finished the episode but it dos not seem to work (the copied file simply is gone when i restart the game)

This is quiet brilliant. When i finish the fourth episode all my episode 5 saves are ready. Non of them works of cause... when i close the game and reboot non of the saves is there and my first old save is episode 4, last sceene. If i finish it, all three save games are back ready for episode five which is comming soon.

It´s not like a bug, it´s like the game is mocking me.

All my saves are gone from the game. I have downloaded the 5th episode and still all my saves are gone. I tried to even play from the start again. And once I carry over to the second episode all the choices I made in the first episode (i.e. Siding with Kenny) none of it registers. So can someone please tell me what the hell is going on. I have invested way to much time in this to start from the beginning all over again. Damn it Telltale what gives?

Creat backups first to be save!

The additional knowledge you need is that for some reason the final Episode 4 prefs.prop gets saved into the Episode 4 folder.

Copy it from "the walking dead 4" to the two locations named in that tutorial and you should be able to use your ep 4 savegames to start ep 5. Worked for me.

I'm having the exact same problem. I booted up the game and realized something was wrong when it my saves said episode 3 instead of episode 4. I loaded the save up and it made me play the last checkpoint of episode 4 again (from when Lee gets bit) and after I get sent back to the main menu after the season 4 credits end, season 5 shows up as coming soon, despite being available to play with generated decisions when I first boot up the game. Also every time I close the game and open it again it makes me replay the end of episode 4.

Have there been any fixes for this or any other threads with people having the same problem?

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! FINALLY GOT IT WORKING!!! CHOICES TRANSFERRED PROPERLY!

Here is PC guide if needed:
1. Go to Program Files (x86)/The Walking Dead/Pack/WalkingDead104
2. Drag (DO NOT COPY) prefs.prop into Documents/Telltale Games/The Walking Dead. Replace. The stupid prefs.prop is the cause of this whole thing, the file generated in the wrong place.
3. Thats it. Try if it works
