Pretty sure her mother is Blasian and her Dad is Black.

I am Blasian myself and Clem's mom strongly resembles my mother and other relatives.

Just look at how people reacted to Rue in the Hunger Games movies.

Anyhow, I think Nateyou drew Clem pretty well with a more "realistic" touch:

However, Kenny looks completely cartoony. Then again, he does remind me of-a Luigi, numberr one!

I thought the movie was mediocre, but damn. I lost faith in humanity.

Sadly, I think you're right. People are much, much less receptive to dark skin females than dark skin males.

The only thing giving away her "blackness" is her hair, which is very Afro-textured.

Exactly. People go crazy over that stuff, and Rue wasn't even that dark. Imagine if she was of a darker complexion.

Actually, that Rue girl's actress looks like she could play Clem if she ever appeared on the TV show
She's exactly what I pictured Clem would look like in real life
Just give her some green contacts and a hat and you got Clem!

I mean, just look!

Always thought Clem looked mixed, possibly blasian, possibly whack. (That's white and black.)

Same here.. some people.. The worst bit is that people wanna act 'hipster' by proving they read the book through disliking this.. but all they proved is being stupid because they just didn't register the fact that she was described as being dark skinned..

I'm sorry, but there is nothing about this picture which makes her look even partly asian. She looks like a light skinned black/caucasian mix woman

You are right. She is alive, and this is the main thing. She did not very much like the african- american , I think she half afro, half white

I always thought Clem was blasian though for the most part I didn't care about characters ethnicity. I mean just because Lee is urban doesn't mean he can pick locks and just because Kenny is white and from Florida doesn't make him a racist idiot. People are people, it's what you do that should determine what people think of you not what you look like.

Clem's a smurf.

She's short, and wears a hat. Gotta be a smurf.

There's actually a really nice article on the making of Clementine in this month's Game Informer that talks about Clementine's character development. They originally planned to have Clementine be the younger sister of the original player character who was a young man who's parents had just been killed and was raising Clem on his own, but this was changed because they didn't want to drop players into a pre-existing relationship, as they didn't think that would work as well in the world of The Walking Dead. When they came up with Lee as the player character, they made Clementine African-American because they wanted it to seem like Clem could be his daughter.

Another interesting thing (although off-topic) in there is that her trademark baseball cap with the letter D on it that was given to her by her father was actually based on a cap that the daughter of the lead artist (Darek Sakai) wears in real life. In fact, Clementine's entire fashion sense (dress with boyish ball cap) is based on Darek Sakai's daughter.
