"Save Device Lost"

I've posted about this in the support section for the Xbox 360 but it doesn't seem to be affecting as many people as the other save errors.

Essentially I reach a point in the game and an error pops up telling me "Save Device Lost". On restarting the game I can't just continue as the game freezes on a black screen.

I have to use the rewind feature to go back to the previous checkpoint but when I reach the exact same place the error pops up again.

Starting the episode again has alternately let me play it to completion or simply moved the error to a different point. This error appeared for me with Episode 5 but is affecting all episodes as I am attempting a replay.

Other accounts on my console have played the game to completion without this error.

Against my better judgement I am tempted to buy the disc based version in the hope that these errors are not present, the game is too good to only have played through once.

Edit: Should read Storage Device Lost. I shouldn't post late at night, my spelling goes to hell.
