Who cares about gore, murder, implied sex, child deaths and alcohol, just censor a bunch of cuss words and it's okay for the younger ones.

Yeah... I think the majority's opinion has been voiced in enough varieties now.

I think Clementine was the filter ("swear").

Quit being such a pussy. 14 and up are not children, they're teenagers and they already know profanity exists. It's not some traumatic revelation. Goddamn. Even little kids already know about profanity (even in the game world, ala Clementine) so why hide it?

Bunch of wusses in this world...

Poker Night at The Inventory featured characters like Strong Bad and Max, which generally prefer to stay away from insults, either just subtly referencing them or just going with the simple method of bleeping them out. Strong Bad in this case, used the method of "Subtly referencing them". (Only at one point swearing in Poker Night at The Inventory, something that has been bleeped out, whether you have the filter off or not.)

But nevertheless, if some kid misses Homestar Runner and found out there's a game called "Poker Night at The Inventory" which has Strong Bad in it, and he would find out he plays a game in which Strong Bad's sitting right next to a dude who has a tendency to swear a lot, well, that's what the word filter is for. TWD doesn't have Winnie the Pooh, or whatever kid friendly character you can imagine in it, and it has absolutely no reason to be censored. :P

Here's your reason. Now you know.

If they DID have a filter you'd either hear Quote of 2012 or you'd be sick of the bleep noise.
But seriously, never before had I ever heard so much cursing in a video game. It puts South Park to shame.
But it feels completely real.

House of the Dead: Overkill had a lot more swearing. And there was a Scarface game which dedicated a button to swearing.

If they cut all the swears out this game would have like 25% less dialogue.

ROFL, love all the judgmental ******* responses here.

The answer to your question is no, there is no language filter. If you want one, you should make it known to telltale so they know there is consumer interest in that type of feature.

Great, more insults. You're really helping your argument there.

Opinionated, however, this being a public forum that's kind of expected. If people didn't have an opinion there wouldn't be a forum. Your comment was judgmental.

No need to take it personally, mate. How about we just answer the question without passing judgment on the guy.

Oh, I don't know, maybe because it's a game where horrific things occur, which are definitely rated R, but instead of requesting a violence and gore filter, he's more shocked by the language?

That doesn't seem askew to you at all?

Jokes aside:

Yes, it's an unpopular opinion. And yes, this is a kind of paradox idea that seems to be at home in only one country in the world. And we being a rather international community, it is inevitable that eyes pop and words of (hopefully only) surprise are spoken.

The claim still stands that foul language is an integral part of the hard and cruel world of the Walking Dead, and only the popular TV series likes to tell us otherwise for obvious reasons - censorship reasons.

The designers have decided to add swearing to their game, and I guess it was a pretty conscious decision. In other adventure games the conscious decision was not to do it (a notable example is the original Maniac Mansion, where Tim Schafer wanted to put swearing in just for the heck of it and seemed to have been stunned by the simple question: "Does it add anything?"). I can respect both decisions.

In any case, the last thing we need here is an exchange of insults on the topic of swearing.
