TWD is full of impossible and/or outrageous happenings.

Take the scene where you clear up the electrified fence of zombies for example.

The ones that are lying in the road blocking the tractor are not even near as burned as the ones knocked off the fence. Yet it was either Mark or Lee that claimed they were cleared off the fence earlier.

Not to mention how strangely they must've fell to have landed that far from the fence. And that unless there was a subtle time-skip (where they clear even more zombies), one of the two zombies should've been handless due to Lee cutting them earlier.

And I can't think of a single big reason why the bandits didn't attempt to flank the tractor. Should've been especially easy since it was moving, thus bringing their cover to an extreme angle.

AND THEN the bandits accepted they'd been beaten for the moment... Because Mark and Lee passed through a waist-high wooden gate that was safe to bypass even when the fence was active. "Oh no, don't argue with the gate."

It's a lot of weird little things don't seem to add up in such a small timeframe.

The ones lying in the tractor's path are not really the ones on the fence. Lee and Mark just assume they are probably because their lives are on the line and could be extinguished at any second, and thus their thoughts are a bit flustered.

Perhaps the bandits didn't get closer because they know Lee and Mark are not the only ones on the farm, and for all they knew there could have been an army of survivors waiting with guns should they get attempt an assault outside the safety of the woods. They're also poor shots and struggle to strike moving targets.
