When episode 2 came out, I was very confused. Not a single character had new facial hair aside from what they had in episode one. No one had shaggy hair or looked dirty either. Did they manage to maintain perfect grooming, packed into a dirty motel for three months? I was hoping to see Katjaa grow a beard.

Maybe they picked some hygiene products during supply runs to Macon? Chances are not every supply run was as intense as episode 3 so they may spend more time picking up "luxuries."

The other thing is they are at a motel, and pretty much all motels/hotels provide basic toiletries to guests.

Since it was a motel, I'm guessing there were complimentary razors for everyone.

Everyone seemed a little more... out of it. In my opinion at least. Lilly looked like she hadn't slept in years in episode two and everyone's hair looked a little bit more messy. That or I'm just going crazy and they all looked exactly the same as they did in the previous episode. As for facial hair, eh... pharmacy runs = shaving cream and shit? I guess?

I forgot to mention Lee was probably using his axe and lending it to everyone who needed a shave.

In the comics glen and Maggie shave their heads and Rick saves his beard. But they had power at the jail. So that's a good question

I was hoping Kenny's mustache would grow out, though. It remained perfectly trimmed throughout the whole season, which isn't a big deal but whatever.

People who aren't used to facial hair might have it bother them, and without electricity, there would be a lot of downtime. I'd shave if there was nothing else to do.

I can't explain the others, but in Kenny's case his mustache is so powerful that the rest of his facial hair refuses to grow out of fear of reprisal.
