Default TWD freezes after connecting

I was just playing TWD when windows updates decided to restart my pc without warning, taking me directly out of the game when it shut down, now any time i try to start the walking dead it loads up just fine and i click "click here to continue" and then it connects and right after it does the game just freezes.

Im not sure what to do at this point, ive reset my pc again but it still freezes whenever it connects.

Does it completely freeze, or is the ticker at the top of the screen still going?
If this is the case, the game is downloading an update/patch, which can take up to 20 minutes.
If it doesn't move anymore and everything is indeed frozen, I recommend backing up your saves and prefs.prop file and reinstalling the game. Make sure you remove any trace from your computer when you do this.

I moved this to PC/Mac Support.

Please try what happens if you disconnect from the internet before starting the game.

If it doesn't work then, the crash might have corrupted your savegames.
You can try the "restore previous version" feature (right click, "properties", "restore previous version") on the prefs.prop, or if that doesn't help, on the savegame folder.
