The Walking Dead - ntdll.dll error

I have been trying to get the game running for quite some time. I am able to get the game running with windows 98/me compatibility mode but it has moments of nasty choppiness (even with shadows turned off). Without compatibility mode, the game crashes and Eventviewer shows errors with ntdll.dll. I have not been able to find many others with this issue or at least any that found solutions. Just wondering if there are any suggestions. Thanks.

Your system seems to be in pretty good shape from what i can see.

Please make sure that Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering are set to Application Controlled in your graphics driver.

There's also something that helped a few users with stuttering issues.

Sadly not. ntdll.dll is a component of windows itself, and it's hard to figure out what's wrong, even if i had access to the system.

Have you tried starting the game with your internet access disconnected?
How about other compatibility modes of later windows versions?

I had a similar problem. Same error in event viewer. Could not run the game application from within Steam.

I wondered whether it was a compatability problem for me, which it was. However, not for the walkingdead101.exe though, but, in fact, for Steam.

For some bizarre reason (I don't remember setting it this way) steam was running in compatability mode for Vista...

Anyway, I right-clicked my Steam shortcut, went to properties, compatability tab and unchecked running in compatability mode, ran steam, then clicked to 'play' The Walking Dead and it started running fine. Very odd...

Hope this helps someone else with similar issue(s).
