Press ESC. The game also periodically saves for you.

hi everybody.
I purchase all episode of the game today, but the save option is only on the 1st chapter.
for the other chapters of the game, I can't save and backup because the save option don't exist!!!!

help please!!!

EDIT: I have find why!!!!! the save option appears only if you play at the chapter match to the desktop shortcut. (example: if you play at the 3rd chapter from the shortcut of the 1st chapter, the save option is not here!!!!!! But if you play at the 3rd chapter from the 3rd chapter's shortcut, oh it's magical!! the save option appears)

Now, i must begin again the 2nd chapter

You are a lifesaver!
I was having trouble with my BTTF Episode 1 losing the game progress (I had purchased all the 5 episodes a year ago or so from Telltale Games' website and installed them all at once). It seems the shortcut for the game was changed to point to Episode 5 executable file (which coincidentally, was the last episode I installed) - seems that at every new episode you install, it modifies the shortcut that loads the game executable, and even though every executable offers a launcher from where you can select to play any episode you want from the menu, it won't properly load the prefs.prop file from that episode you chose (it seems to stick to the prefs from the executable that is pointed by the shortcut), and consequently, not load the 101_auto.save file as well, which stores your game progress.

I edited the shortcut to point to the episode executable I was playing (I am still at 1) and voilá, all of the options (Continue/Load) were back!!

I think this is a bug, as users should not have to do that. It looks like overkill - if the devs want the games to store their individual prefs and state saves on a per-episode-basis, then the executable's launcher should know better where to look for these files, based on which episode was selected in the launcher menu. Or else, get rid of the launcher altogether and just stick to creating individual shortcuts for each episode installed. This would get rid of that kind of issues.
