Default Lee and Vernon

What makes Vernon think badly of Lee? I've seen playthroughs where people make all the good choices and Vernon acts like Lee is a jackass. I know threatening him and lying to him won't make him like you, but the guy I watched playing the game was honest and didn't threaten Vernon at all. The only think he lied about was Clem being his daughter. Vernon just goes off saying he doesn't have much consideration for others. Just like wtf?

Basically saying Clem is your daughter flags things as "Lying to and Threatening" Vernon, which, if you've been fair with him otherwise, makes his comments seem like a gross overreaction. Oversight on the developers part really. Saying Clem is your daughter shouldn't put Vernon in the same mood as threatening to kill his people if you don't help him.

I believe Vernon sees that lie in particular as Lee using it as a bargaining chip. As in he's only saying Clem is his real daughter for the sole purpose of guilt tripping Vernon into helping Lee get through the sewers, and thus putting his own life at risk.

Yeah, the developers may even have intended for that choice to be seen that way by the audience. Like how you can lie and say your group has meds Vernon needs. But that choice had [Lie] next to it where this one didn't, and a lot of people probably considered Lee as Clem's adoptive father after everything that had happened. Again, probably just an oversight for by the people who made the game.

I think that they make Vernon out to be an arsehole to Lee so when Clem goes missing everyone will point the finger at Vernon, not only because he said that it would be better for Clem to go with him, but because he is quite honestly horrible to you throughout the time he is with you. I would say though that if this episode was rushed then the producers/developers probably didnt have enough time to fix the dialogue and the ways that Vernon treats you as you progress through all the decisions you make. I never liked Vernon, to me he always seemed a bit... I don't know, he made me feel uneasy as we didn't know much about him and so I was questing his motives whenever he said or did something...

But I get where your coming from he was a bit of an arsehole to Lee just because we lied once to him. I think I told the truth and then lied in different game plays to see the result and either the producers couldn't be bothered to change it or that is just how vernons character is supposed to be...

I lied and told him Clem was my daughter. I thought it was the only way to make him show me the way out of the sewers.

But yeah, Vernon gets pissed if you lie/threaten AND bring Clem to Crawford.

I can't believe that he was the person who I wanted to take care of Clem if Lee died. (Before episode 5.)

Someone mentioned on here about seeing the cancer patients story as the WD 1.5 or season 2,ive got to agree, would love to see how Vernon and his group did with taking the boat and how they got on afterwards,Vernon comes across as a saviour because hes a doctor and all his group look up to him as their leader,he probably thinks hes above anyone or has a character flaw ,glad Lee put him in his place.

Vernon was nice to me simply because I was a nice and honest guy *Ever since Kenny shouted at me for not telling him about Lee's pass)
Vernon was nice to me so I was back
