Save Issues from TWD Eps 2 to 3

Hello,

Several days ago I finished Episode 2..yesterday I moved on to Episode 3, where I made about two hours of progress...today I went to finish the episode, and my save file told me I was still in Episode 2! None of my Episode 3 data was available, even though the most recent save file date was yesterday...I tried a workaround and finished the episode, but in the opening scene for Episode 4, the wrong person was killed! I don't know if there's anything I can do to fix this. I've been making backups of these folders every time I make a change.

I don't see multiple prefs.props in the relevant locations, so this is an unusual case.

If you .zip and upload your prefs.prop and *.save files i can try to recover your progress.
They are too big for attaching them here, so please choose an instant filehoster like this one and post the download link.

Please also state what person you expect to be killed in episode 4's "previously on walking dead" scene, so i can check the success.

In my save file, I had taken Carley with us instead of Doug, and in Episode 3, Carley got killed. When I tried the timestamp workaround, the recap in Episode 4 showed DOUG getting shot at the same point in Episode 3, whereas he had already been dead!

Ah, i didn't know that was the workaround you tried. I was going to try that, but i guess that's moot now. You don't need to change the timestamps anymore by the way, changing the filename seems to be enough.
That workaround is not 100% though, since some decisions are saved in the prefs.prop as well.

Did you by any chance find a prefs.prop file in your install folder and delete it while trying workarounds?
If so, that probably would have been the prefs.prop with the episode 3 progress, and recovering it should help.

Otherwise, your best option is continuing the episode 2 save you currently have. It's at least a consistent proper savegame with all rewind points and stats for previous episodes.
