All I have to say is GOOD LUCK! Because it will never happen!
Bill Watterson has steadfastly refused to allow his characters to be merchandised outside of the comic collection books published by Andrews and McMeels and a few calenedars.
He doesnt do personal appearances and stopped signing his books after he saw people selling them for large sums on Ebay.
He never even appeared in person to receive the two Rueben awards he won for Calvin & Hobbes.
I a way,I really admire that about him,hes one of the few artists who has resisted the urge to sell out like everyone else...I'm sure he's already made millions off the books and original run of the strip..but he could easily be a shameless money whore like so many others today trying wring every last cent out of his characters..I have to admire a man who stands his ground.
But I also see the fan's side of it too...Fans want a stuffed Hobbes,,games, shirts etc.
But he responded to the requests by saying he didnt want to cheapen the integrity of the strip by doing what "Jim Davis" did to Garfield.
He was offered MILLIONS of dollars by toy companys seeking the rights to make a Hobbes stuffed tiger and turned it down flat...so basically at this late stage of the game there is no chance in hell of him allowing a Calvin & Hobbes game!
I love that strip though,it was very introspective and poignant, and is missed by millions to this day.
