Success! Strong Bad's room is actually a small piece of the extra gameplay afforded by the bonus area of the House of Strong. This is somewhat complex, and the reward probably isn't worth all the time put into figuring it out, but there you go...
Note: This only works for extended play, and I think requires the highest possible rank (per SB's remarks about "I bet a REALLY cool guy could..." at a critical point).
Hint 1:
Strong Sad won't let you in through the door on the main hallway.
Hint 2:
Can you think of another way to get into Strong Sad's room? Note that playing the tutorial offers some good information
Hint 3:
There's another door on the far side of Strong Sad's room. This door leads to another room (which I'll call the Mystery Room for now.)
Hint 4:
There's no obvious way to get to the Mystery Room from elsewhere in the house. Is there anything about the location of the Mystery Room that suggests a way in?
Hint 5:
If you look at the layout of the first floor and corresponding rooms on the second floor, you should notice that the Mystery Room should be overlooking the back yard
Hint 6:
You don't have a door to the back yard. Is there another way you can think of to get to the back yard?
Hint 7:
The Game Room on the first floor also overlooks the back yard, and has a window.
Hint 8:
The window in the game room is blocked by the Messy Pile. You can't open it with the pile there.
Hint 9:
StroBro is NOT touching that pile! Is there anything else in the game that gets moved without being touched?
Hint 10:
The shovel (which you stole from the Poopsmith) would be a good choice to move the pile
Hint 11:
Just using the shovel on the pile does nothing. You have nowhere to get rid the mess. Is there anything you can use to collect/bundle the mess?
Hint 12:
There's a big old banner hanging in the living room from the party.
Hint 13:
If you lay out the banner on the floor, you could scoop the pile onto it. This gets rid of the pile, reveals your bed, and generates the Bag O' Mess
Hint 14:
Strong Bad wants to get the Bag O' Mess out to the shed, but it won't fit through the door!
Hint 15:
You can now operate the window! If you open the window, you'll see a brief cutscene of SB pushing the Bag O' Mess out the window. You're now in the back yard!
Hint 16:
There's not much to see in the back yard except the Shed. Strong Bad will tell you he lost the key to the padlock ages ago.
Hint 17:
Is there anywhere you haven't looked yet that might have a key that hasn't been seen in awhile?
Hint 18:
Climb back into Strong Bad's room and look under the bed
Hint 19:
A ladder! Just what you need to get to the second floor. But it's wedged solid by the non-functional robot
Hint 20:
The robot is rusted stiff, and Strong Bad seems pretty certain you won't be able to reactivate it.
Hint 21:
Is there another way you can think of to move the robot off of the ladder?
Hint 22:
Note that the robot's comically large feet are sticking up in the air, with the heels on the ground.
Hint 23:
Perhaps putting some weight on the feet would tip the robot forward, freeing the ladder?
Hint 24:
I'm just messing with you. Why are you still reading this?
Hint 25:
Use the Bag O' Mess on the robot. You can now get the ladder. Use it on the wall, and you can climb in the second floor window to the Storage Room (which I was formerly calling the Mystery Room).
Note on this area:
You can see a Steamer Trunk up here. If you open it, you'll have access to all your costume items (except the Yellow Shirt, which appears to be restricted to the photo booth). I'm not sure why this is here, but I guess someone thought it would be cool to have another place with costumes. I haven't found any bonus costumes in here, but I suppose there might be something like the T-Shirt...
Hint 26:
The door to Strong Sad's room won't open, and Strong Bad tells you it's not a good idea to let him know you're here. Somehow, you need to get Strong Sad out of his room
Hint 27:
If you haven't figured out by now that this whole post is a hoax, you really should have....
Hint 28:
Is there anything in the Storage Room you might be able to use to get Strong Sad out of his room?
Hint 29:
Try using the broken hamonica that's bolted to the wall
Hint 30:
Strong Sad seemed to be frightened of ghosts, but he convinces himself that the harmonica is just the wind. Is there any way to make your ghost act more convincing?
Hint 31:
Get the chains from down in the Shed and use them on the harmonica!
Note on this area:
If you read ALL the hints, you did it! You should see a cutscene of Strong Sad running out of his room down the stairs. You're now free to explore Strong Sad's room. There are a few good sights to see:
* If you check out his computer, you'll see a "Powered by the cheat" cartoon.
* If you click on his "MP5 player", you'll hear a Sloshy song.
* If you pick up his cell phone, you'll see that you can make a call to Homsar, getting 3 new Homsar phrases that you didn't get on Homestar's cell phone (you might also be able to use this to make up for any cell phone calls you didn't make before the game ended--haven't checked).
Another note:
Strong Sad's door will remain open, and his room and the Storage Room will remain accessible until Strong Sad comes back.
Where's Strong Sad?
Strong Sad will be in the basement hiding "behind" the washing machine. If you talk to him as Devil Strongbad, he'll stay down here. If you talk to him as Angel Strongbad, he'll go back up to his room and shut the door again. You'll need to repeat the "ghost" rigmarole to get back in.
Final note:
You read hint 27, right?
Happy hunting!
