Default Ideas for video game TVshows

Which video game do you think is good enough to have its own television series? I thought Sly Cooper should have his own TV show, because a perfessional theif like him gets into all sorts of adventures, and likes to flirt with a sexy policewoman.

I think Homeworld or Homeworld: Catalcysm would both make excellent television shows, provided you had the right combination of writers, directors, and actors. Even more important, though, would be the music. The music of the Homeworld games is a very important part of the experience, and does an excellent job in establishing the mood of the game. Since the Homeworld games have definite endings to them, I'd say a TV series based off of them would last one or two seasons before drawing to a close. Ideally, I'd put the number of episodes at 26 or 32, as there are 16 missions in the game, though the first two or three missions could be condensed into a single episode or two that would set the stage for the rest of the series.

Hm. For me, it's not as much a question of which game is good enough, but whether its story would fit a week-by-week format. The Metal Gear games are my favorite games, for example, but I don't think they'd work well as a TV show.

Planescape: Torment could be good. An amnesiac protagonist, powerful forces moving mortals like chess pieces, and multitudes of portals to all sorts of different worlds. I'd watch it.

It'd be hard to make a game that's not cartoony into a TV show, and there's already a Mario show (or there was anyway).Although the Dead Space animated movies look pretty good.

The Fallout series would make a great TV show, I think--especially if it was on HBO or something where they could really let loose.

hmm... thinking about it, I remember an intro of some kind... but oddly enough nothing else.

No character voices or anything...
