Culture Shock Strange video issues in Sam and Max

I downloaded Sam and Max: Culture Shock from Steam and started it up.

When I first started it up, everything was fine, except that I kept getting notices from my monitor to switch to its native resolution. I normally get this the first time I start a game, but this time I was getting it every couple minutes.

Via Sam, I then clicked on the TV and watched the short commercial. When I came back out, a part of Max's geometry jutted out of the side of his hand. In addition, the drop down Options menu was completely unreadable. It was staticky looking. I could see the basic outlines of the UI boxes, but that was about it.

I decided to update my drivers and restart my computer, which I did.

At this point, I no longer received continuous notices from my monitor and the Options menu looked fine. But after awhile, Max's hand geometry would explode out like normal. I tried different resolutions, I tried switching back and forth between windowed and full mode, and nothing seemed to help.

I played like this for a while, but when I entered Sybil's, I saw that the Popper kid had bad geometry too, with a big jagged polygon sticking way out on his arm.

Any idea what this might be? I have included some basic sysinfo below.

Thanks! The game is friggin' hilarious.

Could you run the DirectX updater for me? That may clear a few things up. Report back if you see any changes for the good or bad.

Default Weirdness Continues

Ok, I downloaded the Direct X update and updated.

I am still seeing these weird artifacts.

I am now seeing:

1. A spike coming out of Max
2. A large gray panel in front of Bosco
3. Sybil's strange looking left hand.

I have screenshots, if you want them. They are too large to attach.

Thanks!

Have you tried redownloading the game? Could also be a corrupt installation causing that.

Ah, actually, no, I have not. I will try to re-download tonight and see if that helps.

Thanks!
