It's too bad you didn't like the Teen Girl Squad mini-games, but the reason there's not one in every episode isn't that Telltale thought they were lackluster. It's because we already made two of them, and there's no point in putting in variations on the same thing just for the sake of squeezing it in there. (The only reason they're in episode 3 at all is because they're crucial to a puzzle).

When Telltale was making Season 1, we kept hearing the complaint repeated over and over that the episodes were getting too formulaic. ("Sybil gets a new job every episode, Bosco is selling something in disguise every episode"). That's a staple of TV sitcoms, so it seemed like a natural fit for episodic comedy games, but players complained they were tired of seeing it. So we changed it for Season 2, and for SBCG4AP, we went even further and did everything we could think of to make each episode feel different.

And now we're hearing some complaints that each episode doesn't have the exact same format. ("Why are we being cheated out of a Teen Girl Squad game this episode?!?") Make up your minds, internet!

Never listen to the fans, Telltale. They'll give you money and complain and give you money regardless of what you do.

I didn't really not like them, it's just that you have to play through them over and over again until it starts to get less funny just to get an idea of what everything does, and I also just figured you guys had just got tired of doing them. When it comes to making a game formulaic or random, though, you really just have to find the right balance, but sometimes it really just depends on what you're changing. If you make all the characters have almost the exact same shtick every episode, it's going to be a bit less welcome than if you put in a big new minigame with each one.

Don't listen to those neigh-sayers, I love the variety in sbcg4ap; I hope samnmax s3 keeps that up, oh and with an overarching story - I don't expect much

I actually liked the formula in Sam & Max Season 1.

Of course there'll always be complaints, and we don't make any changes to the games unless we agree with the criticisms, of course.

One of the things I like best about the SBCG4AP is that each episode does feel distinctive, but they all tie together at the end, kind of. (You'll see). And part of that is only including stuff when it makes sense, instead of squeezing something in just because some people will complain if you don't.

Remember that they're both in 2 Ds so the biggest thing in them is their audio files.

Actually, 2D tends to be a *lot* more of a space hog than 3D. Texture data is really hard to compress without losing quality, so when something is 2D and you are depending on the intricacy of the texture, you have to leave the file really large.

Wow, really? I was thinking just based on polygons and stuff, but that makes sense.

WHAT?!?! I freakin' loved those, and I loved the story-based minigames (like the RTTEOTR and Maps & Minions), too! The ones who complain about formula are naive; you don't change the formula, you improve it! Many of the greatest seires can attest to this, like The Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Call of Duty, Super Mario, and Warioware, to name a few... TGS actually seemed to be evolving in SBTF, and I'm extremely disappointed that they've been scrapped. Please bring them back in ep. 5!!!!

Yeah, the one in Strong Badia the Free definitely had a lot more complex combinations than the one Homestar Ruiner and had the the bonus scene at the end too.

If I could change things around in season 2 the messy pile on the bed is gone, we could play the arcade machine, we could go on the H*R website Via the Lappy, Strong Badia would be burned and gets repaired a little more every episode and is fully repaired on the last episode and plays an important for the last episode, play games from the fun machine from past episodes by switcing them around, and finnaly we would have a trophy display in the locker room like back in episode 1 after getting a trophy.

I think one of the Telltalers said that they would leave out the preview button to get as much disk space as possible for the game itself.
