This is not a big deal or anything, but the first time I launched Sam & Max Season 2 Episode 1, the game wasn't properly focused and I didn't get to hear the little configuration song. I wanted to try and reset it so it would play again, but couldn't get it to, even after deleting the game's preferences file (this is the Steam version, by the way).

Yeah, unfortunately to get that to pop up again, you have to delete your preferences and the registry settings. I'm not entirely sure how steam's uninstaller works, but you may be able to make a backup of your save files and just uninstall the game (making sure to tell it to delete preferences).
