I got suckered into playing Resort World, which is a facebook game in the same genre of Farmville. I'm ashamed of myself.

Yeah, online can suck that way.

As for me, I got my old xbox down from my room, hooked up the S-Video to the TV, and I have been playing a few games.

Guilty Gear, Phantasy Star, but mostly I had a quick go on Shenmue 2.

I already watched the movie before, so I know mostly of what happened in Shenmue, and I can always play that on an emulator if I feel like it, but I just wanted to sit in front of the big TV and laugh at the awkward localisation.

Ever since AE it's been about Yun and Yang. Ono said he made them purposfully OP so they'd be used then dropped everyone else a tier so no one would use them. There's basically no A tier anymore.

Started Mafia II, really enjoying it so far. Could seriously use a fast travel option, though. Also, found a funny glitch where, if you try to pick the lock on a car that somebody drives away before you've finished picking it, you'll become invisible, teleport to the car, throw the driver out, then everybody falls through the ground. Good stuff.

Also, my inner monologue voice is now Italian-American. Badabing-badaboom, eh?

For all its shortcomings I really enjoyed Mafia II, it does a lot of stuff really well, like walking through your old neighbourhood while Christmas music plays in the background.

The main problem is that there's nothing to do in the city barr the story missions really

I agree with that. Having the city open like that is a waste if you can't really do much in it. Still I did enjoy the game.

Ive actually been playing the Left 4 Dead games with my cousin, and I have one conclusion. The Gnome from Dark Carnival(and technicaly Half Life) IS EVIL!!!!! We have tried the achievement multiple times and something random at the last second prevents us from succeeding and we have to do the campain over again.
One time I had the gnome, was at the helicopter and the game glitched and I couldnt jump into it and my cousin couldnt take the gnome from me.
Another time my cousin had the gnome and in the helicopter, me and Rochelle were dead(tank), and Coach wouldnt get into the helicopter until *after* my cousin got attacked by a smoker, so Coach left without the Gnome.

We just now got teh Gnome to work(with about 6 health total and boomer puke) and then he gave me a dirty look when all we got was 30 gamerscore and Rochelles shirt for an avatar award(but it was my 10,000th gamerscore)

Oh man, that was so cool. The atmosphere in that game is fantastic. (aside: thanks to Frasier, I couldn't stop chuckling when Buttons and Bows started playing on the car radio)

Yeah, that's mildly annoying. Thankfully, I'm feeling a bit of open-world fatigue after Prototype, so I'm not too bothered by it. Besides, I know I'll spend a couple of hours at least just slow-mo fighting pedestrians, so there's my side activity. :P

I forgot how much the beginning of the first Assassin's Creed drags on. And it's worse the second time because I already know what happens. And it's even worse because I just watched my dad play through it earlier. Slowly and awkwardly.

Thumbs up

Just finished Monkey Island 2: Special Edition last night and then played through it again to get the speed achievement on steam. My conclusion is that speed achievements for adventure games are a horrible idea. So much scene skipping. I enjoyed the new art and the animations of the second special edition much more than the first remake. I found myself switching to retro MI in the first edition for about half the game.

Fixed that for, you, DAISHI. You'll thank me later. Or maybe that's what I meant to say... either way, it's still a good idea!

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles

I've played it for a few hours or so, and I don't see why it got such bad reviews.

Sure its a hack and slash game, but it looks like a lot of effort went into it.

Lots of characters, levels and weapons, a solid battle system, and the game has a high replayability factor with unlockable equipment, and multiple missions within levels, that are pretty hard to achieve on the first go.

Its got decent sound, and the graphics are very nice.
The 3D is not spectacular, but its not intrusive.

I have played much, much worse games in my time, and enjoyed them.

Its got a nice, jump in factor which is perfect for a handheld.

Another game I have been playing today is a nice little gem called Darkwatch on the xbox.

The Trackmania 2 Canyon beta.

I must admit, I'm not much of a multiplayer. And although I like how the online mode plays out, I don't see much of a sense in the multi. With all those cars whizzing around and through me, I get confused, hence I turn that mode off so I can't see the other players and can concentrate on the track. Result: Not much of a multiplayer experience, eh?

I have high hopes for the final game - and the single player mode - mid-September.

So I've been playing Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Online Edition for the 360 today.

Great, fun fighting game.

I was playing this one guy, who had P1 in his name, which was cool.
He played as Ken and only Ken, which I see people do alot, and thats fine, but I like to change my characters every now and then.
(In that session I played as Dudley, Ken, Ryu, and Sean (that one was as a joke, as I kept throwing basketballs at him))

Didn't win any of the best of 7 rounds matches, but I was close a few times.

He was a very good Ken player. Pretty smart.
Stuck to some good damaging combos, lead into his super with a sweep (that I should need to learn to counter in the future! XD), good at baiting, didn't fall for all of my tricks!

Though very arrogant, as he liked to taunt when he was safe.
(Which he did less off, after I caught him a few times with a well placed hadoken! XD)

I hope that he thought I put up a good fight too.
I'd like to think I did.

I definately need a lot more practice before I can be anywhere near decent.
My execution is sloppy, but then again, I am using a Japanese square gate style stick, and if I don't practice with it a lot, I sometimes struggle to get used to it.

(Normally end up doing hadokens when i want to do Shoryukens, and vice versa. Sometimes I just end up jabbing the air! XD)

I wish Dan was in this game though.
Sure Sean is kind of like Dan, but I really love to play as Dan.
In fact, Dan should be in every fighting game.

(Imagines playing as Dan in Soul Calibur.... XD)
