I'm just checking the demo out and all in all i'm impressed. Is their a way to save your progress - it seems obvious - but I can't see it

Also anyway to set the full screen resolution to 1280x1024?

Glad you're enjoying the demo.

There is no way to save the game in either of the Bone demos. To be able to save, you need to purchase the full version. (In the full version, Save/Load is one of the options on the main menu.)

Also, there is no way to change the reuolution of the Bone games. However, based to customer requests for this feature, we have added scalable resolutions to Sam & Max. Doesn't help you for Boneville, but it does mean higher resolutions will probably be supported in future Bone games.
