Telltale Characters Appearing in ‘Road to Survival’ for a Limited Time!

Posted on December 2015 by kenjisalk

Fans of The Walking Dead have come to know that Lee, Clem, and the rest of the cast from Season One and Two are a part of the canon of the comic universe, with their stories playing out in different locations from the stories of Rick, The Governor, and more. While Telltale players got to meet characters like Glenn and Hershel in Season One, and will soon play as Michonne in our three part series starting this February – it’s still rare that we get to see these worlds collide.

Starting today, and running until January 31st, fans of The Walking Dead can see the cast of Season One appearing in Scopely’s The Walking Dead: Road to Survival app on iOS and Android! If you haven’t played it yet, it’s an excellent opportunity for Walking Dead fans to experience their own ‘what if’ scenarios that put characters from all over the storylines in a blender. The Telltale team has been having a lot of fun with it this Fall, as it’s lot like a turn-based digital board game where you can customize survivors to increase their power, weapons, and skills.

It’s been an honor for us to contribute to Robert Kirkman and Skybound’s iconic universe, and in the tradition of seeing characters like Lee and Clementine immortalized with their own action figures, it’s also cool to see them rolled into the mix in a game like this. Definitely check it out over the holidays and let us know what you think!

The season pass is also on sale on PS4 and PS3 via the PlayStation Store in North America for US$7.50, or for $3.75 with PS Plus membership (ending December 15th).

'Telltale Games: Story Mode' - A Magnum Opus Games Film by Complex

Posted on November 2015 by puzzlebox

Today we have something a little different to share with you! Earlier this year, the Magnum Opus Games team at Complex reached out to us at Telltale looking to dive deeper into the history of our studio, and wanting to learn more about how our story-driven games are made. We were already big fans of their work, including their kick-off piece on 'The Hotline Miami Story' which we strongly recommend checking out!

We humbly agreed to their request, and after a long week of interviews with Telltale's co-founders, writers, directors, designers, and more - their crew left with an in-depth history of our studio from Telltale Texas Hold 'Em and Bone to Game of Thrones and Minecraft: Story Mode.

We're not entirely sure how they did it, but they managed to condense over 10 years worth of history and over 100 episodes into a brisk 30 minute documentary that examines what it's been like to work on these episodic games under one roof from San Rafael, California since 2004.

We're happy to be able share their work, and our story, with you today. Special thanks from all of us to the Complex team for coming out, and an extra special thanks to all of Telltale's fans, old and new, for continuing to play our games over all this time!

enter image description here

All of this means that we've minimized the potential for you to have major plot points inadvertently spoiled... and a good thing too, because this is an absolutely epic season finale in true Game of Thrones style. We couldn't leave you COMPLETELY in the dark though, so check out these screenshots for a little sneak peek at what's coming up.

enter image description here

With House Whitehill tightening its grip on Ironrath at the behest of Ramsay Bolton, the remaining Forresters must give their all to save the family, whether through diplomacy, subterfuge, or violent force. In the frozen wilds beyond The Wall, Gared learns the secrets of the mysterious North Grove, and Mira discovers that political games in a King's Landing controlled by Cersei Lannister often involve the highest stakes of all.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the most beloved movie trilogies of all time, Telltale Games is going back to the future...again!

Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition features behind the scenes interviews with cast and crew of both the original films and game, revised current-gen console textures, and updated voice work from Biff Tannen's original movie actor, Tom Wilson. In this exclusive interview, he discusses reprising his role as Biff Tannen for this Telltale classic, as well as the process of being a voice actor and his inspirations for playing the character.

For those who haven’t played it yet, Back to the Future: The Game takes place six months after the events of Back to the Future Part III, where the DeLorean Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley - driverless! Marty must go back to 1931 to recruit the help of a reluctant teenage Emmett Brown in order to save 1985's Doc from certain death. Can they repair the rifts of the past without accidentally erasing the future?

30th Anniversary Edition is available in-store and to download on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One.

The original version still available to download for PlayStation 3, PC, Mac, and iOS.

Did you see the teaser trailer yet? No? Well here it is...

As per usual, we’re keeping plenty of exciting details under wraps so you can have the fun of discovering them for yourself. We can give you a LITTLE taste of what to expect though.

In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

We’ve been working closely with the people at Mojang to ensure that Minecraft: Story Mode absolutely feels like a part of the world that Minecraft players already know and love, with a cinematic story and trademark Telltale choice-based gameplay. We know how important customization is to the creative minds who play Minecraft, so we’ve paid special attention to implementing that in Minecraft: Story Mode too. This is the first Telltale game where YOU get to choose the appearance of the player character. Not only do you get to play as either a male or female version of Jesse, you’ll also be able to select from 3 different looks for each.

If you've been keeping up with Telltale news, you'll know that we’ve also managed to snag some seriously all-star voice talent for the season. Male Jesse is portrayed by Patton Oswalt (you might recognize his voice from Ratatouille and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), while female Jesse is voiced by Catherine Taber (she’s been in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Marvel Heroes). The season will also feature Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens – and there are still more cast details to come! We couldn’t possibly be more excited to be working with such an amazing group of actors.

And one quick note for those looking forward to the season finales of Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones – they are shaping up to be two of our most ambitious finales yet! Look out for more news on those coming out soon.
