The Simpsons tapped out

posted by Leplaya on - last edited - Viewed by 5.2K users

I was curious if anyone has played this simpsons game for the IOS marketing. Alright, homer is busy playing an IOS game at the power plant. His actions for being focused on the game over his job causes the plant explodes and wipe out all of Springfield. So its up to you the player to rebuilt the town. So far the game is fun on one small criticsm.

Don’t pick the grow the corn in cletus’s farm unless if your willing to wait for 90 days. I thought it was 90 hours but I was wrong.

  • Guys, I finally decided to do the corn grow waiting game. Now I'm only up to eleven days left!

  • So, uh, I just tried to connect to the game and it started me from scratch before saying it couldn't connect.

I am now incredibly paranoid that I've lost all my progress.

EDIT: Every time I try to load it, it just replays the game from the start, including that goddamn unskippable opening cutscene. And then, when it gets to the actual game, it locks up or says 'can't connect to server'.

I am in deep, deep shit.

EDIT 2: Phew, I'm OK. Had to log out and then back in again. That was a minor panic.

The moral of the story: If your tablet is running low on power, STOP PLAYING.

Dagnabbit! My game's stuck. I'm at the build the Malaria Zone quest on the Squidport quests. Part of the quest is to have 8 boardwalk sections. I now have 7 sections in my inventory, but the game's only counting 6 (it's apparently been stuck longer than that, since it used to count the four sections I already used, but it hasn't been counting them since I built Skip's Diner. I was hoping the game would get unstuck once I physically had 7 sections, but no dice :().

EDIT: D'oh, I figured out the problem. You have to actually 'place' them. I wish they would have stated it that way (instead of saying you have to 'have' them), it would have saved me quite a bit of time.

  • If anyone around here still plays this game, feel free to add me. Username is Gibbeynator, and I'm on every day.

  • I think it's crap that if you miss a update you can't get the stuff from it anymore.

  • Thanks to a present I got for Christmas, I can play this again. If you want to add me, you can easily find my username on the first page.

They do add some stuff back in later updates, but yeah, there's a lot of stuff that's not available ever again.

It's weird, The Simpsons: Tapped Out does a lot of stuff that I hate about freemium games. Premium currency is too expensive ($1.99 for only a dozen donuts) and the premium stuff that's available to purchase is way too expensive as well (90 donuts for a character without a building). Yet for some reason, I remain addicted to it. I believe it's the holiday updates that keep me coming back. I've really liked the Christmas 2013 update (it's my favorite so far). The personal and community prizes were mostly pretty neat, and the wheel spinning mini-game has been kind to me (I've won everything except for the Plow King (which I'll probably never be able to use anyway since Barney costs 150 donuts, and I keep getting tempted by small things whenever I win some extra donuts so I doubt I'll save up) and the Santa's Little Helper snowman).

I've only ever put $2 in the game (I got two premium scratcher tickets from the Kwik-E-Mart - I ended up getting 23 donuts for $2 that way, almost double what I would have gotten if I bought donuts directly). I tend to do pay a few dollars in freemium games I like, although usually I like the less obnoxious ones like Middle Manager of Justice or Crash Course 2 (which both do freemium right in that you can get all of the premium items without ever buying anything - well except for the money duplicating item and the premium currency making item in MMoJ). I don't like to pay too much, since you don't know how long the game is going to be around for (I got burned by Indiana Jones Adventure World when the plug was pulled (I never paid money in that, but I filled out surveys to get in-game currency), so I'm cautious with freemium games now).

  • Well, after not caring for the longest time, I'm now trying to make one final push for the Costington's Department Store item. I've got roughly 3500 gift cards to go, and three days to do it in. I probably won't make it, but it'll be worth a shot. Once again, username is Gibbeynator, so please add me so I can try to make it.

Darn Tapped Out exploiting my love of guinea pigs. I normally wouldn't waste 40 donuts on a tiny, hard to see animal, but it's a squeaky little piggy. I couldn't help myself.

Jennifer- I got him too, but he doesn't do anything. :( I wish Santa's Little Helper and the guinea pig actually had tasks. I'm a guinea pig fan too. That's what my username is based off of. I had one named Lola. :) Did you get the guinea pig shelter? I thought that was pretty cool. It looks good next to Cletus' house because of the dirt road and whatnot. You can add me as a friend if you like, cogitoergosum8 is my username for Tapped Out.
