Episode 2 Won't Download

I recently downloaded the app onto my iPhone 5. iOS is completely up-to-date. First episode worked flawlessly and now I'm hooked! Paid the $4.99 to unlock Season 1 Episode 2: Starved for Help and it won't load. I have been trying for almost a full 24 hours. Under the "Episodes" tab it says "Get" next to Starved for Help. When I tap on "Get" it then says "Downloading".. It loads very slowly. I leave it running while I do other things because by the end of two hours it is still only 75% loaded. I could deal with that if it would ever finish loading. Every time at varying intervals, even though my internet connection is completely fine it says "Connection lost while downloading data. Please ensure you have a working internet connection and re-attempt the download." My connection is fine. I even deleted almost every other app on my phone in case storage space was the problem and it isn't. I have closed out every other app to try and see if that decreases the loading time. It doesn't. Any suggestions? iTunes hasn't taken the payment out of my account yet, if the episode fails to load ever will my payment still be taken out? Can I get my money back? I'm starting to get a little frustrated with spending money on a game I will never get to play... Thank you!

    Please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear. Then relaunch the game, and attempt the download again.

  • Thank you! And I apologize for the double posting. I didn't see the iOS specific forum at first. I appreciate your suggestion and I have tried it a few times. I also tried the VPN workaround I found in another thread in reference to this problem and that has not worked either. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game and followed your instruction from there to no avail. The payment cleared my bank account today, I thought maybe that may have something to do with it, but it still didn't work. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you!

      I recommend making sure all of your background applications are closed, and turn off your device, and after restarting it, connect to the internet and then launch the application and download the episode. While you are downloading the episode, please make sure you do not have multiple devices connected to the same wireless connection, as this would slow down the download.

      • Thanks. I have done all of that. I even turned off my wireless "airport" to my laptop and turned the laptop off as well. The length of time is not the issue here. I really wouldn't mind setting the phone up on its charger and leaving it to load the game for three hours at a time like I have been. The problem is that this most recent attempt, the load took from 8:00 am to 11:42 am. As I said this is fine. But the game made it to 99.57% downloaded and then tells me I had a connection error. Is there anything else you can suggest? An update coming soon with these bugs fixed? I would prefer to wait for an update that would address the problem everyone is having with this game over contacting Apple for a refund. But I also want to make sure the game will be playable at some point in time before I wait too long to ask for a refund. Thank you!

  • You have to update iOS via general setting. Afterwards phone will restart. Go into walking dead ap restore purchased aps, all should well
