If you were asked by TTG

If you were asked by TTG to Create the plot,Direct the plot,Design the plot, make characters and write the script or in other words.... CREATE THE WALKING DEAD GAME WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS,would it be were Lee left off, would it be at the Beginning of the story or its own individual.(details and main characters!!!!)

mine would be at the beginning of the apocalypse, the main character is a high school wimp at 10th grade or 11th, he is on his way home on the bus full of people and well the bus driver falls unconscious (or dies) and flips the bus upside down into a hill, the thing is that there is a girl that the guy likes and she is in the bus, so he wakes up while the girl is still alive trying to get out, they talk a bit, so after that then he finds the window emergency escape, but then walkers start to come to life and they quickly get out.

that's the start, they find a group and so on.

what's your idea of The Walking Dead?

P.S>I know my idea is lame but better than saying: they lived
(the girl dies in the 4th episode, and is I were to make the story it would be 7 episodes)

  • I'd probably do Christa and Omid backstory... unless TTG is doing that next season. ;)

  • i would set it after the apocalypse started so we don't have to do the whole "OMG what are these things" "so, only destroying the brain will kill them " "What, we are all infected?!!" but even though the protagonist knows all this before the game started they mainly just hide before the game and it's a big event at the start of the game that makes the protagonist have to keep moving

  • Mine would start with a highly decorated career combat soldier who lost a leg to an IED in Afganistan.
While he's brought hundreds of men through battle in Gulf 1 & 2 as well as Afganistan, the Army no longer has use for him since without a leg he's no longer fit for combat missions.
The conversation between him and his C.O. being something along the lines of.
"Ive got your release papers here Sargent."
"Please Sir, Im 47 years old and the Army is the only life Ive ever known, what am I supposed to do now?"
"R & R, get a hobby. Go spend some time with those grandkids."
"That world outside there, it's not for me anymore. Leading men in combat is what I do, it's what I AM!"
"We've been friends a long time & you know if there was anything I could do, I would. Know that you have the respect of your men and of a grateful nation."
"But not so grateful that they'll let me continue doing what I do best. (pleading) Bill, please"
"Im sorry Jim, it's out of my hands."
    A few months pass.
Flashes of a few images, he's not doing well with physical theropy, a friend trying to talk to him, his daugther pleading with him, and him drinking, a lot.
Fade into view, we find an angry, depressed Jim sitting alone in a dirty trailer. The bottle of whiskey (3/4 empty) and a pistol rest on the table next to a hand written note.
A broken man sits with a blank look in his eyes. He turns to see a wall covered with commendations and pictures of war buddies.
As a single tear rolls down his face as he reaches for the pistol and puts it to his head. The phone rings.. rings again.. rings a third time as he mutters something under his breath and pulls the hammer back into firing position.
    The answering machine picks up:
Theres comotion and police sirens in the backround. It draws his attention.
"Daddy? Daddy! I dont know whats happening! There's some kind of riot or something happening here. The police told us to stay in our classrooms but I.." and the line goes dead.
He turns to the T.V. to see images of chaos and carnage. He quickly dons his titanium leg grabs the gun and his walking cain, gets into his pickup (with a fully stocked gunrack) and drives towards the school where his daugther is a teacher..

Since Georgia is the TWD main setting, I'd place the events on the outskirts of Ft. Benning. I could flesh out an entire season and introduce characters like, his daugthers x husband, a soldier friend of Jims, another teacher and maybe the local car garage mechanic who handy with tools as well as a few kids ages 12 to 17ish. In addition to the dead some antagonists could be a local drug or M.C. gang. In the final epidose or 2, after a panic event where Jim gets bitten or infected somehow, the mains would deside that the school fallout shelter was no longer a safe place and the plan would be to caravan the survivors to his hunting cabin, possibly somewhere in the Carolina piedmont or Kentuckymountians.

The closing scene would take place in the trailer park where Jim lived.
Jims daugther (trying hard to hold back tears)
    "Daddy, I.."
"It's okay baby, the plan's a good one, but you know I can't come. Do you remember the way?"
    "I do."
Unable to container herself anylonger she cloapses into his arms and sobs.
"Come on now baby girl. Those kids are the future and they're counting on you to see them thru this, they need you to be strong."
She nods and composes her self. "I will."
"I know you will. You're strong, just like your mom. Now remember, there's plenty of game in the forest, and fish in the river and the soil is good there, so in the spring you guys clear some land and plat vegetables."
    "We will, we'll be okay."
"I know you will, now get going. Daylight's burning and you've got a long ride."
Jim leans in and kisses his daugther on the forhead.
    "Get going now."
She hugs him tight & kisses him on the cheek. He winces in pain a li'l but doesnt let her see it. She climbs into his pickup and gives him one last loving look. He waves as the small caravan of vehicles drives off out of sight.
When they're gone, Jim goes into his trailer and with a heavy sigh flops down into his easy chair. His breathing is very labored now. He lays the pistol on the table by the the bottle of whiskey & the note he'd written weeks ago. He takes the note, burns it in the ashtray & takes a long swig on the bottle of whiskey. He turns to see a wall covered with commendations and pictures of war buddies, but this time, instead of a tear, a satisfied smile comes across his face.
As the camera slowly pull back from Jims trailer we hear a single gunshot.
    Fade to black.

  • Mine would be two brothers, one about 19/20 the other 14/15, and they come across Molly, who after the events of Episode 4, escaped from Savannah (even if she got shot in the shoulder or left behind in Crawford, she managed to survive and get out). I'd either want the playable character to be the older brother or Molly, not sure though. So because this set after Season 1, Episode 4, it would have to start at least a few months into the apocalypse. I think a cool thing would be for them to manage to get an airport and find survivors there and manage to get a plane, and maybe it crashes somewhere. I think it would just be cool to start in Savannah, which is quite distinct as it is a Walking Dead location, but then end up in a whole new place in America to find out how they are dealing with the Walking Dead Apocalypse. Similar to Season 1 where they started in Atlanta, Georgia and ended up in Savannah by train, which was a whole new place that hasn't been explored in the Walking Dead universe.

Edit: Maybe a heavily pregnant Anna (from Crawford) could be a part of the group as well, or she could be at the airport that the survivors end up at, and then would be a part of the group from there.

  • My characters will be a "gangsta", a paranoid doctor with his 6 year old daughter, Sgt Hartman from full metal jacket and a couple of random people I have yet to decide.

  • Telltale are in a pretty awkward spot for the sequel because Clem has done such a good job of moderating how you behave. How do you replicate that control without copying or flogging a dead horse?

If you use Clem + Adult it's possible users will start turning against her

If you use another child, comparisons are inevitable and they wont be favourable

If you don't use a child, how do you get players to engage and behave?

I think there are 2 answers that could work.

    1. We simply continue with Lee and Clem. There's more mileage in their story and it's not terribly difficult to write yourself out of the hole Ep 4 left.

    2. You switch roles. Instead of being the adult looking after a child, you're the child reliant on an adult. I think this idea has a crapload of potential and to my mind, hasn't ever been done in gaming.

it could be what i thought in the Omid as the Season 2 Protagonist thread

@Ninnuendo said: what if it is about 9 months later, first episodes Christa is heavily pregnant and the last or near last episode she gives birth, a pregnant woman/baby would be a good way (just like clementine) to make people care about others instead of being all about survival.

it could be Omid as the protagonist but someone cooler would be better, or maybe we will be christa and be pregnant and slow

  • If it were up to me?

Season 2 would be about necromorphs. :D
